This talk presents a series of studies using natural-abundance of stable isotopes (primarily δ¹⁵N and δ¹⁸O) to elucidate plant and microbial nitrogen use and nitrogen cycling processes in natural ecosystems.

报告人简介

Keisuke Koba is a Professor and the Director of the Center for Ecological Research at Kyoto University. For many years, he has conducted research in ecosystem ecology using stable isotopes. He has been instrumental in the development of new techniques and theories, advancing the methods of stable isotope research and enabling more refined analyses. His research has particularly focused on nitrogen cycling in soils and aquatic systems, as well as nitrogen utilization by plants and microorganisms. Throughout his career, Professor Koba has made significant contributions to the field, with over 100 publications in renowned journals such as PNAS, Sci. Adv., Global Change Biol., and The ISME J.
